Kenya Safari – A Great Way to Enjoy Wildlife

February 28th, 2010

Taking a Kena safari far from home is a great way to see the wildlife in some well known national parks such as Lake Nakuru, Amboseli, Tsavo and Masai Mara. If you have always wanted a trip to view some magnificent wildlife and see a new country then you ought to check out a safari to Kenya. Treking on holiday in Kenya will give you the opportunity to see and learn about varied cultures, unbelievable scenic beauty and plentiful wildlife of the region.

The Masai Mara National Park is an extensive wilderness filled with an amazing array of wildlife that roam between Kenya and Tanzania through the vast Serengeti plains. This totally unfenced reserve attracts gazelles, zebra and wildebeest traveling between the two countries in search of grass lands for grazing. Masai Mara is the park where tourists can view the spectacular wildebeest migration of hundreds of thousands of animals taking place between July and October.

One of the largest national parks in the world is the Tsavo located in Kenya. It’s so large in fact that it’s split into Western and Eastern portions. Its close proximity to the beaches makes it an ideal place to take a holiday while on safari. Tsavo East is where you may see huge numbers of roaming elephants and great herds of buffalo traveling through the savannah.

Tsavo West is a little more difficult to spot wildlife in because the terrain is composed of rocky outcrops, volcanic landscape, dense brush and long grasses. The waterholes do attract lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalo’s (the big five). There are a wide variety of accommodations in Tsavo such as Finch Hattons which offers luxury safari lodges and Voyager Ziwani Safari Camp where you can stay in tented camp facilities.

You can see a huge assortment of cheetahs, gazelles, wildebeest, zebras, baboons, buffalos and lions if you visit the Amboseli National Park; not far from Nairobi. Wildlife are easy to spot in this parks low growing vegetation and you are sure to see quite a gathering of wildlife towards evening at the water holes. If you’re interested in a Kena safari to Amboseli you can find accommodations at the Ol Tukai Lodge or the Tortillis Camp that even accepts children during your stay.

If your timing is right you can view thousands of bright pink flamingos at Lake Nakuru National Park along with a great many other birds that flock to this lake. Not only is the bird watching great, but spotting game is fantastic. Waterbuck, impala, wart hogs, buffalo, leopards and rhinos are all drawn to this natural eco system of Lake Nakuru. There are plenty of accommodations including Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in the Rift Valley near the lake. Lake Nakuru Lodge is right in the park and Mbweha Lodge offers private camps adjacent to the park.

Any safari that you plan in one of these national parks will leave you with memories of spectacular wildlife and you’ll never forget what a great time you had on your Kenya safari.

Tanzania Safari: Enjoy Holidays With your Family

February 22nd, 2010

Embarking on a Tanzania safari holiday is something that can provide you with the thrill of a lifetime. No matter what location you decide to explore, the options in both game viewing and accommodations are something to behold.

A small park whose landscape differs from other Tanzania safaris is Lake Manyara National Park. This location is especially known for it’s tree climbing lions. The lake itself covers about three quarters of the area, but it is due to this that you will find many animals grazing here, attracting big game as a source of food. The park is also known for it’s baboons, but because of it’s landscape which makes for an excellent grazing ground, elephants, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe and hippo will also be found here. Due to the terrain they may not be as easy to spot as these other creatures, but there is a good population of leopards here as well. Flamingos and the long-crested Eagle are just two of the over 300 species of birds you can expect to see here as well. There are several camps and lodges located in and around the area to make this Tanzania safari experience one you will not soon forget.

In northern Tanzania you will find the Kilimanjaro National Park. The lush green plains and snow covered cap of Mount Kilimanjaro make this a place where you will want to bring your camera. Melting glaciers that run down the mountain, green vegetation, and tropical forests can all be found before getting to the rocky, icy, desert-like landscape. Before embarking on your trek up this mountain, be sure to get clearance from your doctor before taking part in this Tanzania safari experience. On your way up the mountain you will be able to scout elephants, buffaloes, and many different species of rare birds. December to February and July to October are the best times of year to explore Kilimanjaro National Park, and there are a number of excellent accommodations available here as well.

Other points of interest for a Tanzania safari include the Serengeti, Ruaha National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Selous Game Reserve, Zanzibar, Saadani National Reserve, and Tarangire National Park. Whatever destination you choose, your Tanzania safari will be something that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Chances are after you experience one of these places, you won’t want to miss out on exploring more of them.

Flyography.co.uk – new map-based budget airlines flight search for UK and Ireland

September 15th, 2009

Flyography is a new product which aims to compete with traditional text-based flight search engines. This on-line tool gathers all budget airlines routes on one interactive map built with use of Flash technology.

The important advantage of map-based flight search, which is not available in traditional search engines, is a view on proximity of alternative airports. Since many budget airlines use secondary airports, this feature is very useful.

Flyography does not sell tickets. Similarly to other search engines such as Kayak or Mobissimo, it gives the opportunity to compare available options and than directs users to particular airlines websites.

www.Flyography.co.uk is a product designated for British and Irish market. However, the creators plan to expand the project to other markets as well. The versions for Poland and Romania are planned to be launched in autumn 2009.

Flyography wishes to take share of big and very competitive market of flight search engines. The question is, how strongly people are used to traditional text-based search engines?
